Inspiration to position renewable energy business on a mission

Martin Saunders, Marketing Head, Good Energy was one of my first clients using this pioneering, unique programme in business.  I will always be grateful for his openness to give it a go and experience the impact of heart and imagination in business.

Good Energy has a powerful purpose to decentralise energy, a strong product offering of 100% renewable electricity, a very smart female CEO and green credentials. And yet in a market with the big six energy providers and some feisty small players was frustrated with its level of visibility and impact.

During one 90-minute review session on a VIP Day Martin experienced the breakthrough he’d been searching for, hitting the inspiration for the new, colourful, vibrant positioning for Good Energy.

“We’d been searching for the heart of our brand essence – how to bring it to life. Working with Kat burst through over 2 years of frustration and perspiration in about an hour and a half! From then I had a clear vision of what we needed to articulate and set to work.”

Using powerful intuitive tool to connect to Martin and Good Energy’s purpose and heart we crafted a vision with 8 key end results to create the transformation required.  Martin doubled the marketing budget to update the Good Energy brand and create the ‘Switch for Good’ marketing campaign working with advertising agency Lucky Generals and all whilst beating sales and marketing targets contributing to 35% business growth.

We also used the tool kit to unlock the creative potential of two key members of Martin’s marketing team. We focused on their purpose, natural talents and leadership skills to step change their impact within the organisation with one going on to join Good Energy’s core leadership team.
