A little over a year ago I decided to create my new business by listening to and following my heart. Tuning in the first thing I heard was ‘imagination’ and ‘play’. I remember thinking: Is that it!? That’s all you are giving me to go on?! It was the beginning.

Flipping through my notebook this week the page opened to some writing exploring the vision of ‘my signature programme‘ with a friend, Wendy in April 2014. Here’s what it said:

Wendy: This is a structure for women to put themselves out there, detached from ‘how’. It’s their maiden voyage to launch their ideas. Vulnerability is the portal to their creativity and strength. Grace, working with the energies of nature, silence, to connect with gentleness, innocence, presence, taking their first steps.

Kat: I’m standing at Shirley Heights (in Antigua) sending the message of my heart out into the world. Women are sending the message of their hearts into the world.  In the higher creative structure, in partnership with the energies of life, each person is getting clear on what their heart would love to see visible in the world. It is expansive and creates freedom.

Notebook Vision

Tuning into the vision of my signature programme in April 2014…

I was a little shocked when I read it. In November 2014 I ran the first PR with Heart Online Course for women (and men) with a message to share with the world.  20 bright people from Costa Rica, USA, Canada, UK, France, Holland, Antigua gathered to take their first steps in creating visibility, momentum and fulfilment with their business.

I especially loved women connecting to the message their heart wants to share and stand for in the world – the energy and transformation that created was just brilliant. No blueprints, no formulas, no right ways to do it because it worked for someone else or because that person says it’s so and they are an expert.  Instead listening to their own inner wisdom and with it unfolding clarity, confidence and eagerness to go for it.

And I ran it from Antigua!!  Twice I pre-recorded the class in the morning and headed off to swim in the sparkling turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea whilst the class was running online.  Antigua has been so good to me, reviving my heart and creativity after burnout and giving it all to the Homeless World Cup. I’m so grateful to this magical island and it’s people and am thoroughly enjoying it becoming integral to the creative heart of my business.

Antigua Desk

Here I am at my favourite desk ever in Antigua…

Antigua Office

And this is my office. The foyer turns dark at night and fills up with stars visible through the palm trees…

So here I am 8 months later witnessing creating with heart in business in action. And I’m 100 per cent celebrating my decision to listen and follow my heart. Even when it didn’t make any sense at all and I felt crazy and a fool. It is a joy ‘doing business’ in this way. It’s naturally expansive, graceful, compassionate and creates tangible, practical end results beyond what you believe possible.  It brings deep fulfilment and transformation with real substance as you live and breath who you are and what you are here to do in the world.

Still listening. It’s getting interesting!

For everyone I love who also loves the science and art of creating and creativity.

On Saturday with Esther Hicks at the Indigo O2 in London she shared a super simple exercise that creates an instant return to the higher vibration of the end result of what you want, what you are creating.

When you come up against a Condition that you’re not happy about, and you are triggered, and your energy and vibration drops write or speak a paragraph about it.

Then write, speak out loud or in your mind how you will feel when this Condition is resolved – I feel happy, confident, I feel inspired and joyful, I feel relaxed, so much more at ease, I feel light hearted and excited about life, I feel the possibility I feel curious I feel open and welcoming etc…. whatever you feel.

And you start to feel those better feeling emotions now lifting and restoring your vibration to the higher over the lower, restoring your focus back on the end result of what you want rather than on its absence or on what you don’t want!

Genius.

As I practice I’m experiencing greater periods connected to source, feeling good and becoming increasingly aware when my focus drops to the absence of what I’m creating and with it my energy, belief in it and interest – and then the hard work sets in.

I’m still with Esther and so many of the words of wisdom shared.  I sense potential and possibility and it’s a bit like the cells in my body are dancing.  What a woman with a message and delivered in such a unique way.  Love her being visible, vocal, unafraid. Love witnessing her commitment, practice, dedication, her honed, professional delivery.  And what I love the most is that she moves her ego out of the way to be truly present and lead with love.  An inspiration.

Blossom

You are called to get out there and share the message of your heart…

But this terrifies you?

You are not alone.  More and more heart-centred leaders, especially women, are giving voice to this fear. I’m convinced it is a primal fear women are being called to move beyond, to change the story and create an evolutionary shift.

That we need more women as brilliant radiant role models, leading with love, sharing powerful, positive messages of compassion and possibility is not in question.  And the great thing is that more and more women are being called to step up and share their wisdom and intuition.  And they are.  Just that it is happening in the fringes, not the mainstream.  Yet.

Fears include being publicly shamed and humiliated (my own personal favourite), that no one will be interested, no one will listen, a fear of being killed, of being shot, of being dismissed, of failing, of losing the most important people you hold dear, and of just not knowing how to be visible in the world. And when we listen to and believe these fears they are strong motivation to return into hiding, remain on the fringes, keep quiet and tell yourself it’s not quite the time, when I’ve got a bit more money, when I….

We are waking up to the cost of hiding.  The individual mental, emotional, spiritual and financial cost of not showing up for the life you know it is true in your heart for you to live.  Then comes the cost to society with our systems absent of heart, values, emotional intelligence they have given way to corruption, rising greed and self-interest across the board – in politics, media, business, banking, sport, the list it goes on. Personally, I love the theory that if more women had been present in the banking sector there would not have been such a testosterone imbalance and limits would not have been pushed so extremely, the economic crisis would not of happened.

One explanation given for the absence of women and heart-centred leaders in the mainstream and the terror faced by women who want to step up is the five generations of witch-hunts – women burnt, drowned, tortured and killed for expressing their wisdom, heart and natural abilities to heal.  For five generations mothers told daughters to hide their true nature to stay safe, to stay alive.  Eventually, no one is left alive to remember a time when women were visible and powerful leading with love.

Flip this around as a solution and we simply need to create five generations of brave, courageous, big-hearted women leading with love, visible, powerful, sharing their wisdom and compassion and greatness. Women are ready, the world is ready, it’s crying out!  Step-by-step it can and will be done.

If you have a positive, powerful message for the world and a desire to share your true message join us for the next PR with Heart Online.  We want and need your heart-centred leadership visible in the world.

Painting inspired Belle

If you haven’t yet, please do see Belle, the British drama directed by Amma Asante, written by Misan Sagay, and produced by Damian Jones.

This is the wonderful, true story of Dido Elizabeth Belle, the illegitimate mixed race daughter of Admiral Sir John Lindsay and an African woman, probably a slave, from a Spanish vessel in the Caribbean.  On her mother’s death Sir John places Dido in the home of her aristocratic great-uncle Lord Mansfield who happens to be the Lord Chief Justice.  Their relationship plays a key role in the abolition of slavery.

The film is inspired by the painting of Dido with her cousin and companion Lady Elizabeth Murray at Kenwood House. There are painful scenes of the two women shopping for potential husbands with both men and women appraising each other according to social rank, financial status and skin colour. That is until Dido meets an idealistic young vicar’s son with the conviction and focus to change society.

Apart from the uplift of enjoying a wonderful story I’m left convinced that if we can upgrade and abolish slavery there is absolutely no reason we cannot do the same in current day. Upgrade and abolish energy that is polluting, upgrade and abolish banking that is corrupt, upgrade and abolish business that is diseased by corporate greed and exploitation.

And I’m reminded of the important role that women have in leading the way. If Dido Belle, a young mixed race woman can be brave enough to speak out and take actions for a better world at a time when this was unheard of what are we waiting for?

And I’m reminded that the way of the upgrade is Love.  The film suggests it was Lord Mansfield’s love for Belle that lies at the heart of his decision and ruling on a case that led to the abolishment of slavery. Love gives us the insight and courage to take the brave action beyond the patterns we are accustomed to that is so needed in times of upgrade.

For as Sir John Lindsay says in the movie: “What is right can never be impossible.” No more excuses, only courage.

Thank you Dido Belle Lindsay.
